R&D Life Safety Systems LLC is a commercial fire alarm and life-safety contractor founded in 2025, based in Braintree, Massachusetts, and serving commercial and institutional buildings across Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
Why we exist
Started because the phone kept ringing unanswered
R&D’s leadership team has spent their careers in commercial fire alarm and life-safety work across New England.
Across those careers, one pattern kept repeating: buildings full of responsible people — facility managers, property managers, municipal staff — who couldn’t get their life-safety vendor to answer the phone, explain a report, or finish the paperwork. The systems were fine. The service model was broken.
R&D was founded to run the model the other way: pick up the phone or call back, explain the work in plain language, document everything, and keep the same people accountable to the same buildings year after year.
